Around 30 years ago, when I would have been about 22/23 years old, a friend of mine asked me to act in a film he wrote, produced, and directed, with the aim of winning that year’s “David Lean Prize” which as I recall, was a competition hosted by Croydon Library, located in South London of the UK.
The competition was designed to encourage young film-makers to submit a two to four minute film, in order to demonstrate their technical skills in filming from a variety of different angles.
My friend’s film, despite coming in at nearly twenty minutes, and thus contravening one of the core principles of the competition’s rules, won the competition.
For some reason the only digital copy I was able to get hold of has been split into five parts, the first part of which is preceded by a trailer he cobbled together of an unfinished film he did entitled “SpoonKiller” in which I play the guy with the eye patch and the big moustache.
